No account. No page limit. No "first 3 pages free."
The fastest way to get the words out so you can use them somewhere else.
No fonts, columns or layout to fight with — clean text you can paste into an email, a document, a spreadsheet or an AI chat.
Copy everything in one tap, or download a .txt file that opens in Notepad, TextEdit, Word and Google Docs.
The text is read in your browser. Contracts, statements and research papers never reach a server.
Three steps, a few seconds, and no account anywhere in the process.
Drop it in or pick it. The page count appears straight away.
Plain text, or with a divider at each new page.
Copy it all in one tap or save it as a .txt file.
Whenever you want the words without the PDF around them.
One page or a thousand. No counter, no daily limit, no paid tier.
Fair question. Here's the honest version.
Add your PDF and click Extract text. The text appears on screen with a word count; copy it in one tap or click Download .txt to save a plain text file. There is no account and no limit, and the PDF never leaves your device.
Your PDF is most likely a scan — a picture of a page rather than real text, which is common with anything that went through a scanner or was photographed. There are no letters to extract, only pixels. Use Image to Text, which reads the words with OCR.
No — that is the point of plain text. Fonts, colors, images and columns are dropped and you get the words in reading order, with line breaks where the lines were. If you need an editable document with the layout kept, use PDF to Word instead.
PDFs store text in the order it was written into the file, which is usually but not always the reading order. Multi-column layouts, sidebars and tables can come out interleaved. For those, marking page breaks helps you find things, and PDF to Word keeps more of the structure.
Yes. Click Download .txt after extracting. The file uses UTF-8 encoding with Windows line endings, so it opens correctly in Notepad, TextEdit, Word and Google Docs, and accented characters and symbols come through intact.
Yes. Open this page in Safari, choose the PDF from Files, Mail or iCloud Drive and tap Extract text. Then tap Copy text and paste it into Notes, Messages or any app. Nothing to install.
No. The text is read by pdf.js in your browser, so your PDF stays on your device. You can check: load the page, turn on Airplane Mode and it still works. There is nothing on our end to store or leak.
Not until the password is removed. Use Unlock PDF with the password you already have, then extract the text from the unlocked copy here.
Same rules on every one: free, no sign up, no watermark.
